Attendees; Bill Flease, Ginny Jorgensen, Barb Krueger, Linda Huntley, Mike Coppersmith, Laurie Shaw, Judi Barrington, Moochie Barrington, Judy McDaniel and Tammy McCartney

    1. Introduction of new members – Tammy McCarthy of the NL Jaycees
  2. Old Business
    1. President’s Report

                                                               i.      Mike shared a letter of congratulations from the Mayor for the Community Enhancement Award and asked where we should hang the award – group decided on Festival Foods to showcase the award

                                                             ii.      Mike shared a letter of congratulations from First State Bank and a check for $100 for our event  

    1. Vice-President’s Report – nothing to report at this time
    2. Treasurer’s Report – Barb distributed financial reports and summarized
    3. Secretary’s Report

                                                               i.      Laurie reported that she is putting an article / schedule of events for our event in the Chamber’s New London Directory and Community Guide

    1. Status of unpaid vendors from last year

                                                               i.      Melendes Photography – (Laurie) no payment received yet

    1. Status of Committees

                                                               i.      Invitation – Judi, Laurie and Barb

1.      Judi reported that the mailing list was completed today and given to Barb Krueger (Barb will get to mail house ASAP)

                                                             ii.      P R / Advertising – Laurie

1.      Will be working with local cable channel and local papers as soon as people start receiving event flyers

                                                            iii.      Registration – Judi

1.      Nothing to report at this time

                                                           iv.      Tent / Set up – Moochie and Bill

1.      Planning to rent less porto potties than last year

                                                             v.      Poker Run – Moochie, Judi, Bill, Heather, Ginny and Dan

1.      In the works, some have been confirmed

                                                           vi.      Parade – Carrie and Judy

1.      Working with Adam Hardt to get a band together, will report at next meeting

                                                          vii.      Golf Outing – Mark Heise

1.      All set to go

                                                        viii.      Entertainment – Laurie

1.      DJ for Friday night social – booked, John Hammond of WDUX, will play from 6 – 11 p.m. for $250

2.      Dave Switala booked to DJ Saturday from 4 – 9 p.m. for $100 gift certificate to the Waters (will set up off to the side of the main stage)

3.      Still working on the band

a.       We want 3 Way Street for Saturday night if they can confirm date within a reasonable time frame

b.      If 3 Way can not commit we will ask Revolution - they were already booked

c.       Will check Mike & Brian

                                                           ix.      Vendors – Linda (Laurie to assist if needed)

1.      Linda reported that she has vendor forms from…

a.       BABES will serve mixed drinks

b.      Jaycees will serve beer / soda / water

c.       Lions will serve brats, hamburgers, hot dogs, soda and water

d.      Janet’s Custom Design – NL items

1.      Nothing to report 

                                                           xi.       5K Walk / Run – Mike, Laurie and Park & Rec

1.      Mike will be changing the route to avoid confusion

2.      Laurie has left over tee shirts for use this year

3.      Would like to start / end race at Hatten Stadium

                                                          xii.      Breakfast – all to look for group interested in offering a breakfast

1.      Linda Huntley will check with the Methodist Men’s Club to see if they could do the breakfast since we already have the Lions selling hamburgers and hot dogs (don’t want overlap)

  1. Other Business
    1. Bill Flease will order free banners from beer companies
    2. Barb Krueger will work on posters for event (mailing house)
    3. Laurie will get the heavy banner to Mike Fredricks for the June concert / car show
    4. Laurie will check with John Faucher on the status of the 4th of July and fireworks
    5. Laurie will submit a request to the Tourism Commission for funding for event
    6. Group will need to discuss if we want to give prizes (example – traveled the farthest – most family members in attendance) at the event
    7. Need to create a message board for those who want to correspond with others at the event
